A boatload of remixes for “The One That Got Away” from Katy Perry have been released. Along with the unofficial releases, there is plenty of variety for Club DJ’s to choose from.

Kelly Clarkson’s new single “Stronger” (What Doesn’t Kill You) will be officially released in a few hours. We expect a flood of remixes to follow, based on the tremendous positive response to the official video.

Selena Gomez continues to release great songs, and the remixers continue to make them even better.
Her recent release, Love You Like A Love Song, is a good track in and of itself. But several DJ’s have improved on it.
Of all the releases we have heard, these two should fit most any playlist.

We prefer the Escape and Coluccio Mix, although the Marc and Svedja mix is a close second. We should note that we found several electro-style mixes that some of you may like, if that music style is your preference.
By now you’ve noticed all the remixes available on iTunes and elsewhere for Lady Gaga‘s Edge of Glory. We listened to most of them, tried a few of them in the booth, and found that they are, for the most part, okay.
However, okay is not good enough. Where is that breakout track? There isn’t one.
The closest we have found is the Atlantis Anthem from Wayne G and Andy Allder.
Within a month or two, probably sooner, most regular DJ’s will be glad to see this track fade somewhat.
Everyone wants to you to play it, and when you do, they return to the DJ booth and say, quite rudely, “That’s not the version I wanted to hear”. But of course, they can’t name the remix version that really wanted to hear. Such is the life of a club DJ.
Fortunately for us, there are only three versions currently available that are suitable for club play. And to be quite honest, they sound better in a club with a quality sound system, than they do on iPod’s, or home speakers.
Of course, as this song moves up the charts, a few more remixes may become available.

That has been the opening line in the past dozen emails we’ve received this week. Joe Gauthreaux and Brian Cua have pulled out all the stops and created a big room anthem for Adele’s “Someone Like You”.
This remix will rocket to the top of most DJ’s playlists within the next few weeks. Expect to hear it everywhere. And you should, it’s that good.

Taylor Dayne‘s new single, “Floor on Fire” was released on iTunes last month and included several remixes.
As of today, the early favorite is the Thin Red Men Club Mix. However, don’t be surprised to see several DJ Remixers release their own versions in the coming weeks.
Taylor has always been a strong vocalist, and although this track may not reach #1, it will most certainly appear on the Billboard Top 10 within a couple of months.
Taylor is continuing to tour, and make guest appearances at Pride Festivals.

Since that time, Tony Moran has become a popular and well known DJ/Producer throughout the music industry. Many of our younger fans have most likely never heard this track in their local bar, but for those who have been around a while, it brings back great memories of the crowded, smoky, hi-nrg clubs of the new dance era that followed disco.
